They're playing up to the misogynistic view that vulnerable, simpering girls are gorgeous and need to be coddled and treated like princesses.
If it gets them what they want, and the men give it to them, then it's both the male and female's fault.

My friend is a feminist to the point where you want to beat her senseless. She flips at the smallest little thing and it drives everyone mental  .
It's not even like we disagree with her but she's sooo bloody annoying ¬¬ she had a go at me for daring to suggest that she might get a bit arsey during a lesson about feminism in history, which she then proceeded to do anyway.
Why can't everyone just get along *sob* or why can't we return the time when a man could open a door or compliment a women without be patronizing/creepy/a pervert.

Cause why should a guy open a door for a woman? Surely through equality, nobody should open doors for anybody?

To be honest, I hold doors for anybody as well. But it's true that guys tend to look out for girls over other guys. Is that offensive to girls?

Depends on how the guy does it. If it's as though he's trying to get into the girls' pants or is just being a patronising git, then yes, it could be offensive.

In an equal society everyone worries only about themselves? sounds a bit dystopian to me, although admitadly not opening doors is a big step to complete social fracturing.
