[Seraphim Swordmaster]

"Another Fire Emblem Project?!" I hear you cry. Erm... not really. This one's more like a hybrid of FE/Final Fantasy Tactics as it's being made with Sim RPG Maker 95 v2.

Basically, over on Fire Emblem Online I tried to get a fan-made FE game going. It was killed off because of the fact that I had so much work and because so many idiots didn't actually read the topic. Fortunatly, Ranna in her wisdom has given the go-ahead for a revival project. Only this time, we're using the TTMers.

As far as the old "FEOFEP", as it became known, is concerned you can throw all ideas about the previous project out of the window. This is a completely new, fresh and original idea and we want to keep it that way.

Before any serious storyline gets implemented, I am going to make a short demo a few maps long and post it up for all to download - just so that you can all get to grips with the controls and the mechanisms. If you all like it, we'll go ahead and make it into a full-on storyline-driven game.

So how do you get involved? Simple. This is the kind of game where you get to be a character in it, and not just an NPC, but a full on, useable, and potentially gamemaking character. So how do you do this, you ask again? Well, read on and I shall explain all...*

*PS. I seriously mean it. Read everything.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS GAME

First of all, I need the following information from you...

For Character Profile, just write a one or two-sentance long introduction for your character. I will not be making a game about an essay you write on your character, so just give me the jist of their backstories.

STATISTICS

The stats that exist in this fangame...

HP - Hit Points. The basic health meter of most games. Run out of this and your character falls.
MP - Magic Points. Used for casting spells. Run out of this and you won't be able to use any abilities until it is restored.
STR - Physical Strength. Affects the damage which you can do with a weapon equipped.
MAG - Magical Power. Affects the damage you can cause with a magic spell and also your resistance to enemy magic attacks.
SKL - Fighting Skill. Affects the accuracy of your attacks (the % that your strike will hit the foe) and the speed of your attacks (how often you can strike in a single round).
STM - Character's Stamina. Affects your physical defence and your chaarcter's constitution/build. A higher level of Stamina allows you to carry more items.

Just a quick reminder for you alll...

Skill = Skill + Speed

Magic = Magic + Resistance

Stamina = Constitution + Defence

CHARACTER AFFINITIES

The elemental affinity for your character. This determines who they shall be able to form relationships and friendships (known in the Fire Emblem games as "Supports") with. The Affinities are Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Thunder, Light and Darkness and each one has a special effect on the starting stats of your character, so choose wisely...

GROWTH RATES

Some things to take into consideration...

1 - Growth rates are the chance that a stat will increase upon promotion. So, if you have a 75% growth rate for HP then there is a 75/100 chance that your HP stat will rise when your character levels up.
2 - Everybody on the forums, Admins, Moderators, Members, everyone is only allowed a maximum of 300% total growth rates. This is for reducing complications and preventing people from becoming too overpowered. So your growth rates could be...

HP - 100%
MP - 50%
STR - 50%
MAG - 10%
SKL - 40%
STM - 50%

... if you wanted them to be so.

3 - Please try and keep things in character. Why the heck would a magic user have a 95% STR growth and a 2% MAG growth? Please, take things like that into consideration.
4 - I feel that I must stress this again. Everybody has to have the same amount of growth rates in this game. If you go over the limit then your growth rates will be dropped until they fit the maximum level allowed.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- If you want your character to be a villain then you don't actually need to specify any growth rates.

- Any growth rates written in bold signify that the member has used their Admin Points to boost their total level. This is perfectly legal to do so.

CHARACTER CLASSES

For the most part, we are using Fire Emblem 9 (Path of Radiance) classes. However, there are a few exceptions. First of all the Laguz units will not feature in this game whatsoever. Secondly, new classes may be added and old ones may be removed. I reserve the right to change the classes at will.

Finally, I really cannot stress this point enough, you must include at least three possible choices for your character's class. This is because everybody wants to be a swordsman, and if you all picked one class then the game would get boring, so please try to include as many optional classes as you possibly can.

And on a side note we will not be introducing any ninjas or magic swordsmen or anything of the sort. As such, all requests for custom classes will be ignored.

However, if you've never played a Fire Emblem (or a Tear Ring Saga game, as they're more or less pretty similar) game, then I shall list all of the possible classes...

Please note that Blue indicates a Males-only class and Pink indicates a Females-only class.

Note: A unit with its name in italics is one that I may not be able to include in the final game, so it is highly important that you choose multiple classes if you want this one.

If I can do it, an FE8-style promotion system will be in place, where you have control over what your character changes into. For this reason, Fighters and Myrmidons can both promote into Heroes, and Fighters and Male Archers can also promote into Warriors.

Unpromoted Units:
Myrmidon - Fast warriors who can use swords.
Fighters - Sturdy characterds who can wield axes.
Knights - Slow moving, but heavily armoured characters who can wield lances.
Archers - Lightly-armoured and nimble units which can wield bows.
Thieves - Fast units which can wield swords and can steal money and items from a foe.
(Weapon) Knights - A mounted unit which can wield either a sword, a lance, an axe or a bow. Limited to one weapon only.
Pegasus Knights - Women mounted on a pegasus. They can fly over obstacles and can attack with lances.
Dragon Riders - Lance-wielding knights who ride on dragons to fly over obstacles. They are stronger and more durable, but slower, than the Pegasus Knights.
Priest/Cleric - Holy men and women who can use healing magic to assist their allies in combat.
(Elemental) Mage - Skilled magic users who study in one school of magic, either Fire, Wind, Thunder, Ice, or Darkness.

Promoted Units:
Heroes - Powerful units which can wield swords and axes.
Swordmaster - Fast units which have a great deal of skill with the sword.
Warrior - Battle-hardened Fighters who can use both axes and bows.
Generals - Advanced Knights who can wield both swords and lances.
Snipers - Characters who have mastered archery.
Assassins - Thieves who can also eliminate their foe in a single strike. They can wield almost any kind of sword.
Paladin - A (Weapon) Knight who has become even stronger and has gained the use of other weapons besides their original one.
Falcoknights - Pegasus Knights who can use swords as well as lances.
Dragon Lords - Highly advanced Dragon Riders who can use both axes and lances.
Bishop - Advanced Priests and Clerics who can use both their healing powers and also Light Magic.
(Elemental) Sage - Advanced (Elemental) Mages who have mastered Fire, Wind, Thunder, Ice and Dark magic to an extreme degree. The fact that they can wield almost any magic types makes them highly useful but the one that they specialise in is the one which they are strongest in.

THIRD TIER CLASSES (Book Two Only)

Sword Saint - Skilled swordfighters who wield two swords and can strike multiple foes in combat.
Commander - Generals wielding swords and axes whose armour does not limit them. Their speed and movement is above other armoured knights.

Archsage - The greatest of all sages. Their magical prowess is based upon their previous class.
Saint - The highest of all Bishops. Their skill with Light Magic and Healing Staves are second to none.

Book Two Characters

Book Two of the game picks up two years after the first ends.

Book Two of the game features several "Leaders". They are not necessarily "Lord" type characters since few of them follow the traditional Lord conventions.

Each "Leader" type character has a party of characters, made up of new and returning allies. When the Leaders all meet together, you can only use one team in conjunction with them. This means that you have to be even more careful who gets the EXP.

The only "Leader" that I can reveal will be Sam's. His team will consist mostly of prepromoted returning units, similar to Elincia and Ike in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Some units, however, appear in multiple teams. The long and short is this: take extra care with your experience points!

Characters who appeared in Book One who also appear in Book Two will receive special bonuses to their base stats and weapon ranks. For example, Felix can start off Book Two with an S rank in Swords and HP above the normal base for a Rogue. Most returning characters will be prepromoted, but this is remedied by the new Third Tier Classes which I shall try to make as different from the conventional Fire Emblem norms as possible. XD!

Sayona's Team

Sayona's team is from the Republic of Plato. It is made up mostly of young soldiers and refugees from Banetous, such as herself. Sayona's team eventually clashes with the Banetous Liberation Army and its leader, Etain. Sayona's team is then absorbed into Etain's.

Im liking the growths! The affinities for my characters are Ice (Nayumi)and Fire (Selkio) if those two are there.

Backstory hmm im going to let you decide on that. Well those two anyway.

I have a "sister" the healing class... named Wayuna her mug is on the bottom of this post. Same with her guardians Gilmanesh and Lo
Wayuna's affinity is Light affinity.

Oh yes, if you can, give the generals unique weapons. For example, giving Farah the Excalibur (Holy blade) and Olga Brascendo (Dark Spear) and give them respective boosts to make the generals unique to their strengths like giving Farah something like a defensive bonus or a unique ability to block certain kinds of attack while giving Olga increased piercing qualities or the ability to deal greater damage vs units that are heavily armored.

Basically, bosses should be bosses, not just pumped up enemies. Something that the party should actually struggle against instead of establishing a high level and then shoving them into battle.
