If he can keep it to less than 200 words I'd happily read it ^^; I don't have an Xbox 360 console but even if I did I wouldn't be going crazy for this. _________________

Blahhh... =P
The only reason I've been going on about it is because they handled the European release date like morons. Seriously. If it had been a simple, "we'll release it on so and so in so and so" that would have been one thing, but the game had about eight different launch dates (at one point there were about three at the same time on different sites) and the people who Namco had put in charge of publishing it said that they weren't going to do it after all. Then Namco released an official statement that it was bringing it here. Then Atari said it wasn't. Then a French Atari site said it was coming out while the English ones said no such thing... You can probably see how irritating this got for guys like me by now.
The moral of the story is: never let Atari publish anything.
Anywhoo, I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed ToV so far. The visuals, combat and voice acting are the best yet, and I like how diverse the characters, good and evil are (Yuri, for one, is quite simply an awesome badass). Plus, it's got one of the funniest scripts I've seen the series come up with yet. There have been a handful of "Cudpug lines" (you know that feeling you get when you laugh and then you suddenly realise that you're laughing at is close to the edge?). One of the big bads was naff though, but I guess you can't expect anything less from Albert Wesker. =P
As for whether the game itself is the best in the series... Hrm... I'm not sure. I think it's better as a game, in terms of how it plays, but I think Abyss had a better plot overall, and that's always important for RPG's... but of course, I'm an impatient wolly by nature, so obviously I missed half the sidequest content. Oh well, that's something to do for next time. _________________ Don't accept YouTube's forced Beta Channels!

I gave up after the second round. If they don't like my food, they can sod off...
I'm trying to find the dragonboat racing (or something to that extent...). Any ideas on where I'd find it?
Oh yeah, and because I've had a few people ask me how to get Repede's Mystic Arte (apparently, it's easily missed, even resident Tales master Ivan had no idea where to find it), here's how it goes. Names of stuff made difficult to see, 'cus Alex'd kill me for saying a town name too soon. =P
After you get the second "big" story achievement, go to Helliord. On the right-hand side there's Mr. and Mrs. Hapless Family. A brief chat with them followed by a battle with a few monsters later, Repede will automatically learn the skill "Special". Just thought I'd put that out there to lend a hand to everybody. _________________ Don't accept YouTube's forced Beta Channels!

I think the best way for me to play this is to rent it. The woman who owns the renting shop never buys anything new though so I'll have to use my wicked wiles on her. _________________ "We can't let him bring back our child safe and sound, not with such hideously poor manners. TO THE SHIT MOBILE!"

I don't know... Vesperia is better in terms of game elements. It all depends on what you want: story or gameplay.
That being said, Alex, you probably haven't seen the crowning moments of badassery yet. _________________ Don't accept YouTube's forced Beta Channels!

At Keiv Moc or whatever it's called. The forest where you meet Duke.
What I do like about the game is the myriad characters. There's tons, which is great, and with more still to meet it's gonna be awesome.
However, the storyline is pretty boring right now. It's far more 'go here' than any Tales game I've played before. The fact is, the Blastia idea isn't really interesting enough at the moment to make the game that compelling to play. It's just 'Arrive at new place, problem with Blastia, fix it, move on'. Already this has been the case three or four times, and I'm sure it's going to happen again. I do hope that the storyline doesn't focus around Blastia. It's a barrier. Aer is an energy. Big deal.
Even if the storyline gets way better, the first 10 hours or so haven't been the best start to the game in terms of a narrative.
Another gripe I have is that during some scenes there seems to be an odd signiture with the audio. The music seems to be played far too high in heated scenes and drowns out the voices of the characters, which seems like a bit of a problem at times. _________________

Just change the music volume in the Config. section. =P
I don't deny that the story's a bit weak though, especially in the beginning, but I digress (not to mention repeat what Ivan said in his review), but I'm not too disappointed. I think the script is good enough to keep one playing though. That said, you're totally right about the repetitive nature of "go here, fix blastia X, etc..." _________________ Don't accept YouTube's forced Beta Channels!

I don't know...I'm just not getting the vibe out of this game that I got from Symphonia and Abyss. I can't see my bothering to replay this one at all, and from what I've seen so far it's pretty simplistic and as I say, boring. The only saving grace is that Judith is really fun to play as. _________________
